Grey on grey
all through the day
Sparrows wait
like music notes
to be heard

One or two things that I like

I do love a good glass or two of bubbles! The strawberries can be a bit sweet, so I don't over do the fruit. Bubbles yes, fruit no.

I love it when my kids make me things, like a love-heart made with shells on a cold beach visit.

I love to visit (old) cemeteries - visiting is better than going there to stay I would think, for now at least.

Its all in the methodology

I gather that there is a sea-creature picking world soccer cup winners (sorry, maybe it's called Football where you are...).

So, tonight our All Black's were playing the South African Spring Boks. Normally I just don my blinkers and back the AB's but today I was thinking where's the fun in that? Even if I'm right, where's the fun?

So, I threw caution to the wind and offered my rabbits a carrot (for the AB's to win) and a piece of Biltong (for the 'Boks to win)....guess what! Rabbit chose the carrot and the AB's won. Convincingly too.

How clever is that? Maybe I should ask them about the Soccer results...but then again, I've already consulted my cats Ernie and Lynx...I suspect they are backing Spain given that their only comment was "Raoul" when pressed for a guess!

Cold and colourful

I bought myself a new camera, the old trusty one which really isn't that old, clearly didn't like falling out of 4 wheel drives onto concrete nor did it like falling onto hard wooden floors...it is El Morto. Sigh. I really did like that camera, so have stuck with the Fuji Finepix but this time have an SH10 (with 10mp and 30x optical zoom ooh er), I tried the zoom out on the above ice-crusted leaf in our yard....

This colourful photo was taken on my old Fuji Finepix  - and admittedly the rain was on the lens at the time, and I'm not sure but I suspect I may have posted this photo before...the Scowly Teen and the Rainbow...

I love rainbows, so full of promise and those colours!

Here is someone else who loves rainbows, perhaps more than me...

Tuesday Tipple

I think cos I'm feeling a bit slow and melancholy that this evening we should have an old crooner of a drink....

Moon River

30ml Gin (mothers ruin apparently)
30ml apricot brandy
30ml Cointreau
15ml Galliano
15ml fresh lime juice
ice

Pour all ingredients into shaker, shake (doesn't that ice sound fab?) and then pour into a serving glass. I'd use a high ball glass for this one (saves you having to get up and refill your glass...).

So, comfy on your bean bag? Good, try this version of Moon River - what do you think? (And no, I don't think that's Rol you can hear in the background....but then again, I have been wrong before!)
