No ordinary night

Bruce - So, what do you want to do tonight, sweetpea?

Me - Save the world. I'm tired of the poor getting poorer and the weak getting weaker.

Bruce - I understand completely. (Gives me a hug)

Me - But what can I do? I am only a small blot on the landscape.

Bruce - Ah, come here.....

Me - ....oooh.

I don't understand it!

I've been away again, for work. Travelling way down south to Invercargill and Gore. Its the "delegate training time of year", which means I will hardly have my suitcase unpacked for the next 6 weeks or so. The kids hate it, mainly because apparently their father can't do their hair properly. Gasp. One of you is 14 - do it yourself, honey!!

I admit to being rather creeped out when I have already signed in as a guest at a hotel, then go out for a walk or to shop. I find it creepy when I return to my room and find the curtains drawn and a chocolate on my pillow with a note from the housekeeper...I don't like the idea that someone has been in. Its kinda like letting a complete stranger wash your underwear!

Anyway, what I don't understand is why oh why do hotel suites insist on putting a tall mirror opposite the loo? Do they really think people want to watch themselves "go"?

It seems to be one of life's mysteries unless somebody out there has an answer??

Now, a treat of Kiwi music for you since the musicians union has worked out a deal with YouTube for kiwi music! It's not my usual 'type" of sound but there is something rather catchy about this song.....

This time 14 years ago...

I had just had a baby girl. My first. She was perfect.

This morning I woke up and with shock realised that it was 14 years ago. 14. years. Where did the time go? What have I done with those years - nothing that I can really talk about and certainly nothing that I have won awards for.
However, she is doing well at school. She is mostly nice to her little sister. She is an accomplished ice-skater and has really nice school friends. And there are no spotty boys in sight.

I have a lot to be thankful for! Especially since I know what I was like at 14.....
