2010

This years jokes were similar to the previous years 'crackers'...I have to confess to liking Steve's comment in the previous post below when it comes to cracker jokes.

We went to my mother's for the big day, and had a lovely time. I took a few photos to show you around Kakanui! But haven't 'assembled the post' properly just yet. You will have to be kept in suspenders (as my old Nana used to say).

So, did I make any New Year resolutions? No. Experience over the years has taught me this is a useless exercise for me. If I write them down I forget where I put the list. If I don't write them down, I forget them anyway. I think this year I will just settle for trying to be a better person and to learn something new as often as possible.

What about you, any resolutions?

Nice picture Sagittarian. And actually your cracker jokes are a cut above ours.

No, I don't make formal New Year's resolutions either, but I seem to be getting more organised and motivated to do things naturally in my life which is good.

Happy New Year to you and yours! Laura x

A few years back I resolved not to make any more resolutions.

So far, it's the only one that has ever worked.

Saj,
Your post here is the closest we got to Christmas crackers this year (aside from the relatives). Although they may have thought I was the real crackpot at the table as I got up and gave a rousing rendition of "God Save the Queen" in the middle of the supper party with 16 French-speaking Quebeckers surrounding me.

No resolutions for me...only hope and determination to instigate positive changes in my life.

My wish to spend less time at the computer is self-fulfilling as I caused it to implode and cannot now access Photoshop, the printer/scanner, my new MP3 player, or dare to upload photos until the files are restored. Add to this a major winter storm predicted to last for several days, and we have a rather "interesting" start to 2010.

Cheers!

Hey Twin Sis,

Here's some big New Years Wishes for an excellent 2010 in the months aheady... with plenty of tipples and a sodding good time to be had by all...

I'm still sulking though about this 30°C temperature thing, that is just not right ! Here it was minus 2 this afternoon when I went out to run some errands... Wanna trade places ??? This cold stuff is for the birds... So much for global warming, winter is colder than ever here now...

Well, I'll let you get back to the cracker jokes, I'm sure you have alot of hard work ahead of you opening more of them, and drinking champagne, and then more crackers, and so forth... And don't even tell me you're heading for the beach, or I'll just have a tantrum !

:-)

Hi there, well I must say that just because we buy more expensive crackers, the jokes doesn't get any better, do they? Only the little toys in them. These one must have been from the Warehouse, cause I had exactly the same... Good to see another kiwi blog. As I live in Auckland, my blog focuses around driving... Go figure haha. Take care : )

Selina - ah well, you know there's no point saying you'll do something if you also know that you won't be doing it! I call it time management, just do the things you will find time for. I'll just get the ice crusher out and mix us up a wee something eh?

Mike - agreed! It's lovely to see you here again too BTW.

Lou - oh my, God Save the Queen indeed! We disgraced ourselves once many years ago by singing along to ACDC "Dirty Deeds" by adding "done with sheep" - annoyed the Aussies with us immensely. It was fun. My WV is 'songert' - seems apt, was it you?

Owen - gidday, maybe it will make you feel better if I tell you that I'm now back at work??

Steve - I rather thought I would have!

The Undertaker - hello and welcome! Every year I keep telling myself that surely the jokes will be better this year...every year I am wrong. I think we did get them from the Warehouse actually. My sympathies for the traffic 'fun' you guys have up there! :-)

Wot's black and white and red all over?

I was wearing black and it was cold.
