Update of drama

I don't know how we did it, but the Scowly Teen has confessed to liking The Strokes. I told her they were an old band and she nodded earnestly and said she knew that, but all the really good bands ARE old. Some are even dead. Who knew!!

So - we are in the process of taking our insurance company to court in an endeavour to get our policy entitlements. I can't say I am happy about it but I would be even less happy getting a good stiffing in this manner (ok, get the school boy giggles over with....)

In the interim, to take my mind of it all presumably, my moggie boy Ernie is apparently a diabetic cat.  He has been responding quite well so far to treatment and I am ever hopeful he will continue and go on to become one of those 'self healed' mogs. Initially I thought the vet had stumbled upon a surefire retirement plan, but - what can you do? I will give Ernie a go tho' and see how he gets on, to be honest I feel our family has lost enough lately and can't bear the thought of having to put him down.

On a brighter note, I have discovered a nice sparkling wine from the Lindauer brand - Sparkling Pinot Gris. So hold out your buckets chps and chappettes while I pour you some frivolity! Yes sorry still have to use buckets as we have still been shaking down here.

Heck it's come to Court action. How awful can things get. And you have a diabetic cat! With a diabetic daughter, we look sideways at Aelfy when he prefers jam and sweet treats to the meat in his bowl...
And what's that down beside my fridge? Aha a bottle of Lindauer Sparkling Pinot Gris ! Time to open it I guess.

I approve more of your choice of song than your daughter's, but at least she's learning.

Hope Ernie gets better!

Take care.

The Strokes are so washed up...not just old. After their first album? (which was excellent) they were seen as the new wave. But hey new wave turned into a drip, drip.

Now The Vines...now your talking Old Skool but kool.

Love to puss.

If Ernie has half the fight in him that you have he'll be fine. Sending all good wishes! x

Rol - gidday there, when Scowly was just 2 years old she spurned the Spice Girls in favour of "Mick and the Boys"....

Keith - I reckon that makes it cocktail hour almost all the time! :-)

Marginalia - Hope your mog comes right too, tried to eave a comment but had trouble with the 'robot detector'!

Steve - Glad you called by, Ernie is doing ok so far (but my wallet isn't faring so well....)

Oh yes, do pass the bucket, we've got a lot of lost time to make up for.
Nasty nasty about the necessity of dragging in lawyers. I hope their bills won't make your vet seem like he's doing charity work. Poor dear Ernie; how does he like those visits to the vet? Probably about as much as you.
When my daughter was 17 and staying with a family in NZ, she suddenly discovered a lot of the music I'd listened to at her age (Donovan, Simon & Garfunkel, for example). It was really sweet to be able to share that musical experience with her. Still working on all out appreciation of Mick and Keef, though.
Oh look, is my bucket half empty or half full? In any case, bottoms up!

Yeeahhh... get the cocktail shaker out, or do you just stand with the bottles and wait for the ground to do the shaking ?

So what does subtle mean in your universe ?

poor cat.
poor you.
must admit I never heard of The Strokes and I much prefer your choice of music.

I haven't even had any wine yet and I can't read the numbers, or half the letters on this prove you're not a robot...

A photo gallery need to be visual. The photos are the important thing! With PicsEngine, the navigation inside albums is very easy with their thumbnails.
All photos of the selected album are showed on the horizontal menu.
