Whistle Wetting Wednesday

Hi ho, a New Year it is then! So be it. I have no quarrel with Father Time nor his four-seasoned sisters.

Today we will keep it simple and straightforward.

VODKA and PEPPERMINT (I know, almost sounds like a mouthwash doesn't it?)
3/4 ounce vodka
3/4 ounce peppermint cordial
Tonic water for topping up and a peel of lemon for garnish.

Shake the Vodka and cordial together with ice and strain into a glass (a highball will do nicely thank you...just up behind those champers glasses...there's a love, get one for yourself while you're there - mind the dust....), top up with tonic water and stir briefly; hang the lemon peel spiral over the rim of the glass and you're done.

Come on, sit here next to me and have a look at this...

With rain and cold wind over here, surely sounds alluring; yet, am still with hot tea and lemon...cough...cough...

Please have a good start into the new year and a great Wednesday.

Hi Robert - sorry to hear that you are not well! Perhaps a hot lemon and honey drink would work for you? :-)

Half the country's caught one thing or another. We appear to be under constant cloud, it's wet, cold, grey and spring apparently has been cancelled. Summer is refusing to leave the southern hemisphere because it's so drab here and the Snow Queen has moved her HQ to London.

And the economy's screwed. Bring back the assisted passage programme!

That sounds like it would do nicely for a winter pick-me-up in these parts as well! If one consumed a few, could also do for a lay-me-down. More snow coming this afternoon to blow round my cabin door. Think I'll stand at the window and sing a few choruses along with Kate and Anna and crew, peppermint vodka in hand. Is your cabin door in the process of having a whole house built around it yet?

Glad you're back. You'd been gone so long I'd almost sobered up.

Sorry, but that drink does sound too much like a shot of mouthwash.
but I do thank you for that dose of Kate and Anna - a perennial favourite.
