Mulled Wine should do the trick quite nicely (it usually does!!)
- 1 orange, sliced and seeded
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 bottle red wine
Combine the orange, sugar, water and spices in a large stainless steel or enamelled pot.
Slowly bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat, add the wine and slowly reheat but do not let it boil.
Serve in warm mugs (or use those nice 70s pottery goblets that have been in the back of your cupboard since...well, the 70s!)
There ya go, snuggle up and we will have you feeling ducky in no time! Cin cin.

That recipe is per person, yes?
A mulled wine for my mulled whines... I like it.
Lynne - sure, why not! Get it while it's hot...(as the actress said to the bishop)
Steve - Better get in quick now that Lynne's arrived...

Far too little alcohol.
Ooh, mulled wine I love it. You can do it with cider too which makes it a little less Christmassy. With winter approaching here, you have inspired me to start...ermmm...mulling
Marginalia - I didn't believe that was even possible but now you mention it...
Cheryoncake - I must try that with cider! Thanks for the tip (as the actress said to the bishop!)
Though I have heard of it, I've never had mulled wine. Sounds like a great recipe for the coming cooler weather and holidays. I'm gonna try this!
