Well, it's actually Wednesday here but I have been working away from home so today is my first chance to regale your livers with naughty stuff!
I thought I would go for something easy...and yummy of course.
SALTY DOG
45ml of vodka (feel free to test the vodka to make sure it hasn't gone off in the bottle!)
120ml fresh grapefruit juice
ice
Rub the rim of the glass with lemon slice and then dip into salt to coat (margarita-style). Pour all ingredients one after the other into the salted glass filled with ice.
Park yourself somewhere nice and cosy and sip away....

Thank god you finally showed up! I was getting quite parched. With all that grapefruit juice, this is positively a heatlh drink. Perhaps I'll have two. BTW--it takes a very large glass to hold 45 oz. of vodka!
Oh hang on...45 ml isn't the same as ounces, is it?
Louciao - ah what the heck, ounces...mls....it's all the same lying down....
Can you twirl all the bottles around like Tom Cruise in Cocktail?
Hi Steve, suffice to say you wouldn't leave me in charge of your Grand-dad for the afternoon!
Oh dear me, dear dear me ! Leave you all alone for five minutes and you've jimmied the lock on the liquor cabinet and yer all whooping it up again and swinging bottles and getting grandad roaring drunk and dancing with abandon right on the kitchen table.... sheeeesh, and who is that lying under the table having confused litres with ounces with centi-litres... oh, dear me, dear dear me ! So where's me salty dog, that sounds sort of tasty after all ! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right ?!? And nice to hear procul harem singing something other than A Lighter Shade of Pale... :-D
I never knew Procol Harum were into anything other than Lighter Shade(s) of Pale. This drink sounds pale in itself, but with quite a bite.
even the word verification has been into the liquor cabinet - sesseesh
Oh, and I missed that Owen already beat me to the Pale joke. Damn.
Owen - its ok, we've saved you some!
Violet - party on down, sister!
Saj--Just to let you know, Owen has come up with an interesting theory about the wine theft over at my place. And we have been talking about you behind your back! Though I think it's all true.
I think I'm going to have one (or two or more )of these to cheer myself up.
Thank you for your lovely comments by the way - they were much appreciated x
You're making me wish I drank. The description sounds yummy.
I feel quite pathetic that I can scarcely stomach liqueur chocolates.
Louciao - such gossips! reaLLY, YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE GOOD DRINKING TIME BY GOSSIPING!
Selina - I wish I could help other than just directing your liver to ruin! Hope you gather your strength eventually.
Poet - some of those liqueurchocs are actually quite awful so I don't blame you really!
