Grrrr, grrrr, grrrrr...

Don't know who you may be referring to about people not wanting to know it's hot there. But I'm feeling a bit less jealous now, as today it felt like Spring has begun to spring, a lovely sunny day, just had to go into Paris and stroll around all afternoon to enjoy it... and although I didn't drink any spritzer, I had a kir before lunch, and then a panaché later in the afternoon, just right... As for Paris, well, it was just the usual, ho-hum, more Paris...

I can see I'm going to have to expand my booze cabinet in to an even bigger room again. Just when I thought I'd heard the last of soda water too.

Do you keep a bottle of Angostura bitters? I'm a bit of a fan. Just replaced the last ancient bottle. Great with gin or voddy & tonic.

I'm more of a sour mash bourban man me. Jim Beam White being my fave tipple of choice.

Once a year though I try and treat myself to a bottle of Hendricks Gin, served in a huge (cheap) brandy glass, with ice and....a cucumber. Oh yeah, tonic too. Ever tried Hendrick's and cucumber?

Shut up, the two of you!

PS. Have been enjoying Cinzanos mixed with soda--will that do?
("Too hot in Christchurch, springlike in Paris, chilled wine, kir"...harumph!I'm going to go eat some more chocolate Amaretto cheesecake while I sulk in the igloo.)

"Chilled"?

I can do that part, no problem.

I know what you mean. While we are having an unusually warm winter here in SoCal, the rest of the US has experienced one blizzard after another all winter long. So bottoms up!

Simply just not alcoholic enough.

Phil, Hm...I'm not sure if one should use the words Hendricks and cucumber in the same sentence! :-) I have a well stocked cocktail cabinet which you're welcome to inspect next time you're passing (Tuesdays are good but we can get a bit rowdy).

Louciao- oh that sounds nice too, I'll try that as well. Probably not in the same glass and more than likely with a fresh cucumber.

Steve - Don't worry, I'm sure that good ol' Blighty will be summer-humming in no time...

StickUp-Best be careful with what you wish for, there is a cucumber on the loose in the comment box...

Barry - you ol' lush! (A boy after my own heart...)

In a few months time I'll enjoy a spritzer or two.....or three.....or.....well, you know what I mean.

........and what kind of weather will you be having then?

PS; go light on the fizzy stuuf and it's quite nicely alcoholic. Especially after the third......hic!

After youve had a few? No I agree. You shouldna. However, if you prick lots of little holes around the cucmbers 'bell end' then dip its wick - so to speak - in a goodly portion of gin overnight - it should absorb much of the gin. Then...you can either slurp your lips around it at your leisure - or - you can stick it in the freezer for a tad, until it 'stiffens' to your liking, then you can...well...practice your... hoovering skills.

By the way - I have 'officially' claimed a name attribution for the 'Hendricks, Tonic & Cucumber' drink con'coc'tion. I have therefore named this drink.........

"A Dick & Dildo" (with a splash of tonic).

Hmmm. Tell your friends to remember me when it touches their lips. P.
