Snow? Frost? Chicken? Nice to see a sign of life from the Tales! Your clue, "Weka", sent me on a search to learn that it is a flightless bird, about the size of a chicken, endemic to New Zealand. So is this specimen a likely candidate for dinner? Why don't you cook it up and bring it on board BrOwen's rust heap to go with the Chablis he has on offer.
Louciao- These wee critters are protected here in the main Islands, however they are NOT protected on the Chatham Islands (about 500kms eat of here, and I used to live on those islands as a child.) So, if I was to cook one up I'd have to go to the Island, which are not tropical...suffice to say we should skip eating and go straight to the drinks!
Poet- This weka is very friendly, he often comes to greet the cars arriving at this particular house and hangs about hoping for wee morsels!

Is that snow or just a trick of the light?
