It's my other husband's birthday today. He still cuts a striking figure as he downs his whisky and struts about naked in my head, tickling my fancy as he does so and singing loudly and lustily as a new born.
I've always found his voice curiously haunting. I'm originally from the same part of the country as he is and have had much exposure to him, to the extent that many of his songs provide the background music to many past experiences of my life, especially at the New Jersey shore, which is one of my favorite areas in the U.S. Thanks for the memories!
