The colours in my day

Yellow always makes me smile, it's one of the happy colours don't you think? This tree is along the driveway into our temporary offices, and on blue sky days it is a joy to behold...quite takes my mind off the fact that any second and I will be at the coalface!

These flowers (possibly grape hyacinths??) are in full bloom at the cemetery just down the road from our temporary offices....they are stunning and quite a few of the plots are covered in them. I didn't have enough time to do a  thorough 'roam' around the plots, and quite a few of them have 'keep out/danger' tapes around the head stones. I assume it is because of the earthquakes having damaged the masonry and not for any other reason! :-)

A world without color would be a terrible place. My mood can change instantly as well with a bright patch of color. It's all good. What is the coalface?

I always knew you were good with colours! ;-)

Yellow and blue, wattle and grape hyacinths. I couldn't help a politically incorrect squirm of glee today, when I noticed that grape hyacinths were pushing up from old garden plantings through the tussocks in the council carpark.

I am envious, as we decline into winter your world is doing it's annual miracle and waking up.

Maybe the 'danger keep out' signs are from considerate undead wanting to play by societies rules.

There may be ghosts... but colorful ones. I second the question of Stickup, what is coalface ??? That's what I had after the day at the coal breaker, but other than that ???

Keep the colors coming, as you head into Spring, we are heading into the grey winter here... perhaps after a little blaze of autumn colors...

Hi Stick Up - 'coalface' is a term used (here anyway) to indicate a day at work, usually the hard work done by those outside of management. :-)

Steve - hehe, colour me pink!

Lady M - yes, they're determined to bloom this year aren't they? Maybe all the liquefaction has done some good...

Keith- Isn't nature amazing eh? Kind of like a thermos that keeps hot things hot and cold things cold - how does it KNOW? And yes, am sure the un-dead are quite sticklers for manners.

Owen - see above for coalface, altho' I can understand your interpretation! I can just imagine you all smudgy and peering into the windows...

Wow--so sunshine grows on trees down there! And miniature grapes on little sticks that pop out of the ground. Actually, grape hyacinths grow here, too but I haven't seen a brilliantly flowering tree like that sunshine yellow one. The colours here are just beginning to do their autumn show, before they finally go out in a blaze of glory. Yes, please do keep the bright beauties of your blossoming season shining out to cheer those of us in the northern climes of impending winter.

Louciao- Ah, my blogsister, the other ray of sunshine to rival the wattle tree! :-)

Robert - thank you, so far today has been wonderful indeed. Good to see you here and in good health.

Trust you to snap grape hyacinths. Have you tried trampling on them?

I love yellow and blue together, one of my favourite colour combos.
