Tuesday Tipple

Let's see now, what is in the cupboard that we can shake about today then eh?

How about a DARK AND STORMY?
1.5 oz Gosling’s Black Seal Rum
fill ginger beer
In a tall glass filled with ice add 1.5 oz Gosling’s Black Seal Rum and top with ginger beer. Garnish with lemon or lime wedge (optional).
Yes, that's hitting all the right spots...just like this group!

My dear departed would have liked this tipple. I often think of him never wanting to settle in Wellington because of the threat of the Big One. He never lived to see what a not so big one did to his adopted city.
I'm surprised how badly I took the latest 4.8 and 5.5. I was just starting to trust that a low rumble/tremor was just the train or a shingle truck approaching...

I'll take three please, one to drink, one not to drink, and one for doing neither with. (and when no one is looking, I'll drink the other two as well...)

Since some folks are celebrating Thanksgiving today, I guess we could give thanks here as well, thanks for the cheer of good company, near or far, shaking or baking... Thanks for the tipple, and thanks for being there... Sooner or later the quakes have to stop right ? What are the geologists saying now ?

Lady - cheers to Elwin eh? The girls and I were visiting our ol' neighbours when the 4.8 hit - her toddler stood against a wall in the house laughing and saying "Rock and roll"...but it unsettled me a wee bit. We were watching the ABs game when the 5.5. hit, and that really unsettled me for the rest of the night...and yesterday at work, each truck or train gave me the heeby jeebies all over again. You're right, we just start to get into the groove and WHAM! Back to the drawing board. I suspect the 5.5 just put our rebuild back a few more months!

Robert - Thanks for your good wishes, here's a bucket or two for you!

Owen-the geologists are making it all up as we go along I'm sure of that! :-) Today they are saying that this was within expected ranges of seismic activity, that we can expect more of the same basically. So, for now the few glasses that we have bothered to replace are returned to the relative safety of their boxes when washed and done with! I'm so over cleaning up after these things...I refuse to be on my deathbed wishing I had done more housework! :-)

Hi Saj,
For once I'm glad I'm late because it means I missed the latest rattlers. Or maybe it means that I'm early for the next, judging by what you're saying the geologists are saying. Seeing as Owen and Robert have already grabbed much of the tipple, I'll just sit and listen to the tune and tap my toes in time while I digest my Thanksgiving turkey dinner. I've still got a glass of wine, anyway. Cheers!

Dark and stormy...? Sounds like my kind of drink. Either that or a bottle of Thunderbird.

And all I had when I was photographing my dark and stormy beach was a boring old Longboard Beer!

Wow - I haven't listened to Echo & the Bunnymmen for more than 20 years.
