Three hours south of here...

Three hours south of here is Oamaru. Well, three hours if you go without stopping for ice creams, 'comfy stops', or to threaten to put the kids out to make them walk to Gran's!
When you get there it is worth heading for the old quarter of the town, the SteamPunk HQ.

If you are truly lucky the sun will be shining and in the right place to enable a photograph or two.

If you want, you can stop opff up the road for a 'proper' Olde English Afternoon Tea in the building here...no, not the Church. If you are from Christchurch then you will get nostalgic for the old buildings and, if pressed, will wipe away a tear or two.....

Before again heading south out of Oamaru. If you vere off to the left down any number of raods that seem to lead to Kakanui at the right time of year and in the right rotation of fields, this awaits....

This lone sunflower bucked the trend of it's counterparts to stare right at us!

It was a treat to behold, all of this. But I warn you, I'm baaack!

You're back?

Damn glad to hear it. You've been missed.

Is that a reflection of you, staring back at us, bucking the trend, turning your back on the ugly back heads of the rest the gang?!

Dearest Saj, great to see you out and about roaming the roads of NZ and blogging about it ! (i'm a fine one to talk, having been taking a blog break for a while...)

Hope all is good and that the new house is falling into place... err no, bad expression to use, how about: and that the new house is rising fast and will be shockproof in the future...

Oamaru does that to you - makes you want to wax lyrical and well if you're a blogger, blog about it :-) There must be a name for that feeling we get when we Earthquake-stricken folk see old buildings standing upright and only crumbling with age...
Hey, I'm looking forward to Tuesdays if you are BACK!!!

I certainly would love to have a tea with a trace of lemon.

Thank you for this journey. Please have you all a good new week ahead.

Fabulous sights! Fabulous to have a sighting of the Sagittarian in action, too, blogging away. That Steampunk HQ looks like some crazy fun. Thanks for this burst of sunshine from the fields. Sounds like a fun trip to Gran's house.

Steve - well thanks very much!

Violet- Haha, could be, altho' I haven't been feeling all that sunny lately!

Owen-Yo Bro! Please, don't get me started on 'the house' situation.

Lady-I was surprised to see quite a few 'trussed' buildings in Timaru on the way thru!

Robert-I quite enjoy tea with lemon as well, so let's get brewin'!

Louciao-Its always fun on the way to Grans!
