So very unhappy right now

Our beloved Daisy is missing. She was here Saturday morning, all bright eyed and bushy tailed, cuddly and everything. Then, gone. We have no idea where she went. WEe have rung all the vets in the area, the SPCA, the city pound, we have put flyers in over 100 houses in the area. The kids cry themselves to sleep at night, and I'm not far behind now. Four days and she's never been away before. We had a bit of a "lead" this afternoon which raised our hopes only to have them dashed - she wasn't where it was suggested. I think its the not knowing that is so hard.

Then today I found out that a good friend of mine has been killed.

It snowed on Saturday evening, this photo isn't showing much and as it had been raining the stuff didn't settle anyway...BUT I adore the snow. Something so light and fluffy and damn cold about it. The 10 year old caught a snowflake and insisted on it being photographed.

I'm a bit of a kid when it comes to snow but this time my heart isn't in it.

Daisy - come home! RIP - TS.

Oh cr*p sh!t & f#ck! I hope Daisy comes home.

I know the misery of a missing pet. It is the not knowing that is the worst.

I could swear more for you, if that would only help....

Meggie, I wish it would help! Thanks for your kind thoughts. The kids are really distressed, its the first pet we have had that they have been old enough to get really attached to and therefore understand what it means when she isn't there, plus it has been bitterly cold lately. We will give the park next door another going over at the weekend. Paws crossed.

We used to have outside cats and the pain of losing so many of them was unbearable. I hope she comes home soon. Sorry about the loss of your friend.

Sending a big hug - so sorry to hear about your friend. Hope Daisy comes home soon. When I was a kid our cat, Smokey, disappeared for nearly a week but was eventually found trapped in someone's cellar... hungry but well. There is still hope.

Oh Saggy, I'm so sorry. How horrid. You are right - it is the not knowing that is the worst. I feel sad about my cat still but at least I know what happened to her. But like Steve says, there is still hope - cats are inquisitive and get themselves trapped in all sorts of places.

I'm really sorry about your friend.

Things can only get better eh?

Big hugs!

My thoughts are with you Sagittarian - I know how upsetting it is when a pet goes missing.

Fingers crossed for a happy outcome. Sorry to hear the sad news about your friend too.

Thanks everyone. Daisy is still missing, but her poster is up all over the neighbourhood and in shop windows. Plus I have sent stuff to the local pound. Here's hoping.
