Ood 'ave that for a face?

Dr Who blazed across our screens last night, the one with the greeing of the Ood. The 10 year old enjoyed it (I still struggle with Donna bleating like an Aussie fishwife "Doctaah") and then decided that now the Ood were free maybe they would get real names instead of numbers. She favoured Burt.

I may be getting old and grumpy or I may be just tired of drab, dreary and cold weather (or I may be smarting over our thugby team losing 2 in a row...) but I am certain David Tennant was leering like a man possessed during tonights episode. I felt like perhaps he could see thru my top with those groovy specs he continuously takes on and off - whoa, if I was the writer I suspect (geddit?) that his specs wouldn't be the only on/off action. Wouldn't dare tell the 10 year old that, she's got him pegged as my number one son-in-law.

Anyway, am off to view Life on Mars. Oddly not the political thriller that it sounds like but it is certainly great social commentary. Anyway, speaking of social commentary I'll leave you with this interesting arrangement! (Parental supervision highly recommended).

I love the Ood. And I have a face like that (well, on Twitter and Plurk anyway - hopefully not in Real Life, well maybe sometimes after a really heavy night!!)

Where's my drink anyway!!?

I am so jealous that you are getting The Doctor. I have lost track of how far behind we are here with the CBC farting around with the schedule.

Enjoy your blog, BTW

I don't believe we get the Dr. If we do, then I don't get it. Or something like that.

I am sure if we did get it that my wife would be watching it.

RB - the Ood are quite fun aren't they? As for your drink...oops, will consider myself cyber-spanked!

Violetsky - lovely name!! And welcome to NZ/my blog etc. We are only into the third series I think of the Dr Who...so we may not be that far ahead of you? I have always wanted to visit Canada, no luck thus far sadly.

Mike - I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about your wife getting it! However, if you're keen go to www.bbc.co.uk and ftype in Dr Who. You will be amazed! You will be astounded! You will be hooked!

Tennant does calm down a little as the series progresses and so does Donna... they morph into very affecting characters... by the end you'll be a Donna Noble fan too. Trust me. As for Life On Mars - are we talking Gene Hunt and Sam Tyler trapped in the 1970's?

I used to love Dr Who- & our fridge was named the Tardis! Now I call the ovens where I bake to clear the itch, the 'Tardis'.

Enjoyed the song. I would have sung that with gusto...back in the day! haha.

BTW, Life on Mars, have seen the whole series, & confess, I loved it after initially being a bit put off.

We have only had up to the second season of Dr Who. As for Life on Mars, that has been repeated endlessly ontha cable network so have seen various episodes several times. There is an American version in the works which will likely not be as good.

I think the Ood story was definitely one of the best. And Steve's right, Donna does grow on you. I had major reservations before. She's probably at her best in "Turn Left" a Dr-lite and Donna-heavy episode later in the season.

I thought you were miles behind in NZ anyway?

Steve - thanks, I'll keep watching anyway 'cos I do have a liking for DT. He would be an interesting addition to our family! And yes, THAT Life on Mars.

Meggie - I have been getting a bit tired of the LOM thing but we see the final next week I think so hopefully that will clear up my confusion. I'll still try and keep it seemly on your blog (as best a Kiwi can under the extreme RUGBY provocation we are currently undergoing!!)

VioletSky - I dunno why but so many "same as" American shows just never quite hit the mark. Sometimes I wish they would just leave the programme alone and create a different one altogether! :-)

Simon - well, I thought we were far behind here but as it turns out even our Dr Who is screened in colour nowdays! Who would have thought it eh? :-)

Donna as an Aussie fish wife - that's really funny - I hadn't thought of that, but now I come to think of it you're right!

Hands off David Tennant - he's mine!

OK, Laura - poems at dawn. The winner gets DT.
