I have been touring our wonderful country doing some training stuff and it's really nice to have slept in my own bed for a few nights. Make of that what you will!!
I will post some photos of my travels when I finally get back from them, am away again in the morning for a couple of nights. The Stud loves that, it means he can have the TV going as well as the stereo blaring. The neighbours can always tell when I am away.
We also had a family weekend away in Invercargill, attending the Bluff Oyster and Food Festival - it was fun in an"I hate Oysters" kind of way. However, more photos on that later too. below is a photo taken at the Kakanui Beach which is about 600 meters from where my mum lives and this is what happens after a storm....

Glad to hear that reports of your being alive are unexaggerated!
Thanks Steve, been rather hectic and I'm away again tomorrow!!
Ah, the smell after a good rain storm, eh?!!
Oh Violet, you have no idea! The seaweed is pungent and wonderful, if you like that sort of thing. And it is mixed with that heady salty smell as well. Hmmmm.
I think I might prefer the rainforest or woodland smell. But, I'd be willing to give your sea a try. You are so fortunate to have the sea so close to you wherever you are (as opposed to a thousand km away for me).
I hope the 600 metres is safely inland, Sag. Looks like quite a storm.
Oh, I am SO disappointed... after having visions of Amanda dining on caviar and champagne in Hong Kong, with a cool couple of million in a bag on her shoulder, in fact you've been slumming it with seaweed on the beach. Oh well, it was wonderful to see a snappy comment from you pop up this morning, and that's exactly what I exclaimed : She's Back ! (with a big smile !)
Violet - you're right, these shaky isles of ours mean we can get to the sea quite quickly!
Villager - well, not quite...she lives on the road down to the beach! We also scattered my Dad's ashes on the same beach, I love it there even in stormy weather.
Owen - you're not half as disappointed as I am, mate! I always have visions of myself living it up somewhere exotic with a houseboy or two at my beck and call...and then wake to find I'm in someplace like Wairoa or Taihape! (Go on, google them you know you want to!!)
