All work and no play

I have been away with work, yet again! I have been to the top of our South Island, doing some training. It's been great, I love that neck of the woods. Nelson is a beautiful part of our country and makes some mighty fine Sauvignon Blancs.  And look at the beach...isn't it wonderful? For this time of year it was nice and warm and almost deserted!

This is a view of Nelson from the Tahuna beach...the city proper is round the corner. It's an idyllic sea port.

At the airport there is this statue made entirely of horse shoes - what else?

And a display case of these gorgeous style of necklaces... I coulod do with several of these, how about you? Made by Bright Eyes, in Nelson, they're a good price too.

Leaving Nelson by plane, you go over the wonderful Marlborough Sounds...many inlets and scallop farms, mussel farms, and plenty of holiday homes and small fishing villages....bliss. Come on over!

It looks amazing. When I go on training all I get is the Coventry Tranpsort Museum. It does not compare.

it is an ambition of mine to take you and your family there, you'd love it! This is a great beach and wonderfully relaxing part of NZ.

Yes, and my "training" is usually in a stuffy classroom or hotel in the middle of central London! Count yourself lucky my girl - beautiful scenery indeed!

OC- oh I do indeed, I was also lucky that the training finished early enough to enable me to take my camera for a stroll along the beach!

Sigh! It does look so very wonderful. I know I would love NZ.

Can I stow away with Steve and his family when you arrange for them to visit. I'll be quiet I promise. And I'll not eat for a month beforehand to be sure to go unnoticed. I am quite capable of surviving a month on alcohol alone.

RB - you're very welcome! I'm sure I can help you out with some beverages to travel with...

What ? You can actually still fly in New Zealand ? Just wait, this volcanic ash cloud from the big ash hole in Iceland is going to get to you sooner or later !

Looks gorgeous... maybe we could open a hotel there too ?

Owen - ash hole? Very cute!! Yes, a hotel would be quite nice but I didn't see any thatw e could renovate, put our own mark on so to speak...it's all very fancy up that way you know. You'd have to mind your 'p's and q's"
