Cold and colourful

I bought myself a new camera, the old trusty one which really isn't that old, clearly didn't like falling out of 4 wheel drives onto concrete nor did it like falling onto hard wooden floors...it is El Morto. Sigh. I really did like that camera, so have stuck with the Fuji Finepix but this time have an SH10 (with 10mp and 30x optical zoom ooh er), I tried the zoom out on the above ice-crusted leaf in our yard....

This colourful photo was taken on my old Fuji Finepix  - and admittedly the rain was on the lens at the time, and I'm not sure but I suspect I may have posted this photo before...the Scowly Teen and the Rainbow...

I love rainbows, so full of promise and those colours!

Here is someone else who loves rainbows, perhaps more than me...

Fabulous news Saj...

Nothing like a new camera to shake out the cobwebs and inspire one to get out and take more pictures...

Can wait to see what will be coming from this new hardware. That leaf looks like something taken through a microscope... just don't point it up anyone's nose ! Nose hairs may take on garden hose proportions with that thing...

:-)

So, what's this about ice in the yard... seems to me someone was just gloating very recently about how hot it was... ah, the tables have turned again...

Congratulations on the new toy! I love getting new gadgets. Sometimes it's worth assisting in the breakage of an old one just to get a new one... not that I'm suggesting for a minute that it was deliberate...!

Ah next time we hear that Steve's laptop/phone/TV is broken we'll know exactly why!

I know nothing about cameras but the frost is an amazing shot.

You sent me the rainbow picture once to cheer me up and I still love it!

I see that it's your turn to have dug one of our family home videos out of the vault. Who could forget that camping trip with Owen when he flipped out over the rainbow! Oh my god, what does it mean?! I had a great laugh reliving the moment.

Oooh--a new camera! I have been seriously lusting after one myself but will have to enjoy the experience vicariously through you. Both of your photos are very impressive. Have fun!

Oh boy, oh boy, do we need a rainbow here. No rain for yonks and financially the country's on its uppers.

I went to Yosemite once: A racoon stole my steak which had been cooked to perfection. I don't have a photograph of him (or the steak).

As it rarely gets colder outside, than it is inside of a fridge, the ice was surely alluring, with inflation at about six per cent, the rainbow and its treasure, said to be at one of its ends,as well.
May you have a wonderful time with the new camera and a great Thursday as well.
p.s.: the book did arrive.

Owen - I agree, and have taken a note to remind me not to photograph anyone up their nose! Today we have cold rain, which is good in that it has dissolved the ice problem....and you can't go wrong with ol' Jonie! Thanks for that link.

Steve - honestly, they were all mistakes guv!

RB- ah yes, I knew I had done something with that photo in the past, glad you still like it. One of my favourites too.

Louciao- hilarious, I am now a bit anxious that it will be Owen's turn to post something from the family vault on his blog....

Barry - I didn't know raccoon's would eat steak! Or do they just like stealing for the hell of it? We don't have them here, but we do have plenty of steak which I'd be happy to cook to perfection for you if you ever make it down here! (Steve's getting an Ark together if you're interested in cheap passage...)

Robert- oh, I'm so glad the book got there, I hope it was the one you wanted after all that! :-)

Adrian-Thats very kind of you, considering how fantastic your photos are I take that as a real compliment! Happy days to you.

Great sulky teen shot. Did the rainbow hitting them turn them all multi-coloured too? ;-)
