Caipiroska
1 teaspoon palm sugar
1 lime, cut into eighths
1/2 cup ice
60ml Vodka
1/2 cup crushed ice
Place palm sugar and three quarters of the lime in a shaker, and crush with the back of a spoon or end of a rolling pin. (Or use a muddler - they are much more fun and you look like you know how to make cocktails if you own one of these babies!)
Add ice and Vodka and shake. Pour into a glass with crushed ice. Garnish with remaining lime wedges and two short straws. I'd use and old-fashioned glass for this.
OK, now let's boogey like we did in the 80's...here is a new Kiwi band, what do you think?

This Vodka ... first kind of alcohol I tried. Lasting impression indeed. Please have a good Tuesday.
p.s.: the book finally on its way - should arrive soon. Owe you many thanks indeed.
Hi Robert, the drink that left it's foot print on my forehead was Bacardi, to this day I can only have it with something else! I hope you enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed tracking it down and sending it! :-)
Me too, early and unforgettable experience with Bacardi... not that I wouldn't like to forget, but some memories are forever...
So when are you going to figure out how to have delivered to our doorstep a small package with a sample of the Tuesday Tipple in it, such that it arrives just at the moment you publish the post ??? Here I am sipping a beer when I could be sipping one of your vodka extravaganzas... he he, it would be nice to be able to raise a glass to toast you...
As for the music, not really my cup of tea, but whatever turns you on... it is your blog, so you can listen to whatever you like... think I'll go open up a YouTube page and listen to a little bit of Segovia to re-center after that nerve-jangling eruption...
:-)
Saj,
One quick question as I want to get the tipple right--are the short straws to go up our nostrils and we inhale the cocktail???
Well fortunately we don't need brother Owen in order to get our dance groove on, although I must admit my boogeying days were more of the 70's than the 80's (yes I'm that old!). I didn't like the video visually, so I closed my eyes and engaged in some head-banging moves to get warmed up for our dance party.
The only lasting impression I have of early drinking experiences is loss of memory of the experience and head down toilet bowl. But I persevered and now have little difficulty in remembering where I put the wine.
That keyboard player in the video - his glasses, besides being seriously retro, are filthy. Not sure about the music my speakers weren't plugged in; but the young women have lovely teeth.
When I used to hit the dance floor circa 1965 I did quite often. Got the attention of some groovy babes.
I always pronounce vodka wodka is a stupid Russian accent in a mistaken attempt to sound funny. Drinking loads of the stuff doesn't make it feel any funnier but it does make me feel better about it.
Good Night Nurse! Seems there is a cure for "The Summertime Blues!" I liked the Vid too. Actually, they remind me of a pop version of Marilyn Manson. Go Figure. And I haven't even tippled yet.
Owen- Yup, Bitten By Bacardi support group starting in a neighbourhood near you! As for the music, just doing my bit to promote Kiwi bands...
Louciao- I KNEW someone would ask that question..if you saw the size of my nose you wouldn't have asked!! :-)
Barry- ah yes, you should never forget where the wine is, thats my motto!
Steve - haha, thatr eminds me of a joke I was told once...2 people were having an argument about whether Hawaii is pronounced Ha Why Ee or Ha Vai ee...so they asked a perosn walking past who said it was Ha Why Ee. "Thank you" they said "You're velcome" he replied.
Stick Up - You haven't Tippled Yet? The sun's always up over the yard arm somewhere y'know! :-)
