Wellington Visit

A mere 3 days before the earthquake struck, I had the blessed fortune to be in Wellington for work. I stayed the night as I had 2 meetings, and took advantage of it being Pixie's birthday. We went out. yes, on a Tuesday night! On my way to meet Pixie at a bar, I found these ol' birds....

Later in the quaffing procedure we ventured past this old Lady of the Evening, once called Aqua Vitae, now named the GP...

and this poor ol' sausage, once a regal bank building and now a fast food joint.

These youngsters have no respect for the elderly!!

From banking to junk food...? I'd actually like to see that happen to the jokers who run the banks here! At least the products that fast food joints offload onto people are transparently crap.

Is that a Burger King sign lighting up your Wellington evening on the right of the last shot? I've never seen a BK like that! A night out on the town with a friend-sounds like good times.

You see similar buildings over here that have been changed from banks into something else...such as pubs or the aforementioned fast food outlets, perish the though! Often on the corner of streets and quite imposing looking. Their origins give it away...

Wellington is one place I'd like to visit one day. An ex of mine came from there and it sounded very green and cafe society-ish...plus all that beautiful scenery nearby...

Clearly you had too much juice when you took the photo with the office tower in it.

Weren't you and I just having an email chat about your night out, with a glass of wine in each hand, before the earth shook for you Christchurchians?

There's a nice big old bank in my nearest city that has been turned into a Tim Horton's donut shop. Unfortunately, we don't get any cash back with our Double Chocolate Glazes, unless it's in the form of change. I think it's too bad they didn't leave the teller windows in.

PS. Unfortunately, it wasn't during our email chat that a glass of wine in each hand was involved, at least speaking for myself. I was referring of course to your night on the good town of Wellington in pixelated company.

Can't even remember any of these ... being out at night or passing by a BurgerKing ... yet am glad to read about your happiness. Please have you all a good Sunday.

Quite. I hope you took your custom only to the picturesque establishments.
