Tuesday Tipple

Crikey, after the past 24 hours I reckon I'll need a tripple tipple!

Yesterday morning we had a 4.1 to remind us the earth is still moving, then this morning we had several then a 4 then within half an hour we had a 5. In our building it felt bigger than that, but it was quite shallow and close to the city hence the feeling of "OMG".

If anyone has a palace in Tuscany that isn't being used at present, I'm sure a contender for housekeeper!! (Actually, I could almost settle for an unwanted, up turned compost bin just as long as it doesn't shake, rattle or roll..)

Gloom Chaser

30ml Grand Marnier
30ml orange curacao
30ml lemon juice
7ml grenadine
ice

Pour all ingredients into shaker, shake then strain into serving glass. I'd use a champagne saucer if they weren't all broken! Decorate with an orange twist.

Hey Saggie, Auckland far enough away for you? : )
I was on the phone to the banks call centre today when she suddenly exclaims: "Oh, I'm so sorry, we're having an earthquake, got to go" and the phone goes dead...
Big one too huh. Thinking of ya down there, rattling around

"Shake and strain" - sounds to me like you could just leave it onthe table and let nature do it for you!

Tuscany's ok except far too many wealthy retired Brits. Also you'd have to put up with Italian bureaucracy. Now that really does need a shake up.

Selina - aw thank you, most days we cope quite well but when we get the bigger ones they give us the creeps!

Barry - oh well, back to the compost bin in Steve's backyard....

Over here, below 3.1R it isn't reported anymore. The strongest so far was a 4.9-er for me.
More than willing, I'd like to join you for the tripple³.
A safe and sound Wednesday for you all.

Somehow I am glad I don't live there any more. Hope it all settles down, it must become very unnerving.

"She's taken her girls away from the town" they sing, soothingly. I see how you might relate.

The earth's not shaking here, the fall colours are magnificent, supper's on the table, BrOwen's just getting out of the bath, and the wine is not just breathing it's panting. So put on your silver bracelets, drape that shawl over your ivory shoulders and come sip with me (once we've finished guzzling the triple Gloom Chaser, that is).

On my last photo shoot I was standing on the San Andreas Fault, the most geologically active area in the US and well overdue for a big shake up. The earth breathes, rolls, and trembles. It is extremely unnerving to say the least. A Triple Gloom Chaser sounds just the thing for the old earthquake kit we keep in the garage. I think that would come in more handy than the tin can chile!

Jeez, I really think it's time to put up a tent in the yard until the shaking is done...

I really hope it will calm down soon, that cannot be much fun, no matter how many triple tipples you guzzle.

If you want to come take a vacation in France for a few months, just come on over, we'll figure out where to put you up...

Stop by Minnesota -- the ground never moves here, although it does tend to freeze a bit...
