A Royal Flush

Got a note from our Council today - we can flush our loos!

Good bye Tardis, you've been a legend!!

When your local council starts shovelling shit again you know life is slowly getting back to normal.

That must be a relief.

Glad to see your council came up trumps.

They did confirm that you're connected I hope.

Was the note on loo paper?

Great news, we were lucky that where my mum lives life wasn't disrupted to much, mind you if we still lived in the Eastern burbs where I grew up it would have been a nightmare.

As Herman's Herits used to sing, "There's a kind of flush, all over the world tonight"--well, at least in your "little corner" of the world. Congratulations! Good reason to bring out the plastic flutes again, I'd say.

Even though I do not understand it fully, it feels like a relief indeed.
Happy Friday for you all, from a city where 'the normal' is a bit far still.

Steve - I have nothing but admiration for those guys, they have had one of the crappier jobs around here lately...esp with all the extra crap by having politicians in town...

Keith - understatement of the year! :-)

Marginalia - haha, the paper was too shiny to have a second use.

Vicky, if you could see the Eastern 'burbs now you would cry, they really have had a terrible time of it since September's quake, they really hadn't had time to recover from that before February's shake. I really feel for them.

Louciao- I just adore your humour!

Robert-Thank you for your thoughts, I hope things settle for you up there soon. :-)

Well ... as any gambler would tell ya ...

... a NO LOOS situation is the best situation to be in.

Flushing toilets - the second greatest invention after the wheel!

Great news Sagittarian.

That's great to hear, can't imagine how much work must be going into getting things back to normal.
Enjoy your flush.

Dear Sister Saj,
Just read on CNN about two more pretty big shakes on both sides of the city... for crying out loud, I hope they didn't put the loo back out of service just after getting it back ! That would be cruel and unusual punishment... But seriously, when is this going to stop ?

Ditto Bro Owen. We’ve just been watching it on the news too. Hope you’ve not been dumped back in the dark ages again. I have no idea how your collective wits’ are holding together down there. It’s a diabolical ‘catch 22’. You can’t just sell up, move out and take your chances with employment elsewhere, even if you wanted to. So you just have to live the nightmare and pray your nerves and your luck holds out, but until when precisely? That’s the part I can’t get my head around. As lame as it sounds now, we just sincerely hope you’re ok and holding it together, together.
