Wet Wednesday

The rain has been burning down for the past few hours, as you can see the river at the end of the road is getting as full as a fat lady's sock.

I had to collect our Young Dr Whovian from school and she promptly puked over The Scowly Teen. Plus (of course) I have to go away for work tomorrow and not back til Friday night sometime. The roads are flooding and our yard is under water. The leaves from the trees are clogging everything they can.

Cue the happy clappy song "Oh happy day..."

There's nothing for it, my three friends will have to cheer me up this evening but only AFTER I return from taking The Scowly Teen to ice skating (roads permitting)....pop the top off one, sit down and stay awhile, Midge (our local Bluesman) will entertain us!

Tuesday Tipple

Hoorah, it's Tipple Tuesday again. I am starting to think I might have to start a petition to get more Tuesdays in the working week, what do you think?

It has been raining here for the past 48 hours and some parts of the country are flooding. This morning the weather boffins are gleefully announcing the approach of a weather bomb, with more rain and high winds. Oh joy, at least it's during the week and not at the weekend when the kidlets and sconegrabbers are home from school! But that does bring me back to the order of the day, the Tipple.

I'm mixing us all a nice Blue Day (partly because it is very nice and partly because it goes with the music clip...), so get your taste buds out and put the rollers in your hair....

1 and 1/2 ounces of Vodka
3/4 ounce Blue Curacao
1 dash orange bitters
Garnish - slice of orange

Shake all the ingredients together, with ice, in a shaker and strain into the glass.  I'd use a champagne or cocktail glass. Perch the orange slice on the rim (unless you've been 'testing' the drink thus far, in which case just eat it!)

Now then, get your dancing shoes on while we whip back into the 80s in down-town New Zealand....
