Downhill to the weekend

Yay, from my desk I can see Friday 4.30pm....and that nice chilled Sauvignon Blanc waiting for me. Perhaps when I get home the kids will be scrubbed clean, dinner waiting on the table and my slippers set out by my favourite chair...oh. Wait. No thats a 50s ad and I'm not a male.

Hm. Ah well, it's nice to dream.

I wanted to share this with you, an old favourite from years ago...a Kiwi band. One night I was in a bar on the wrong side of midnight and met the lead singer. We shared far too much red wine but hell it was fun. He is slightly shorter than me. THAT was worth it!

We have a new TV show here called Mad Men which is about a group of advertising guys and is set in the early '60s - exactly what you were describing.

Steve - sorry, mate! I'm sure you have broad shoulders....

Violet - I saw that programme, really liiked it but the continual smoking really put me off!

healingstones - hello there! Well, it's now Friday evening and suffice to say - I did! :-)

The Warratahs are new to me. Good, rootsy folk sound. The sort of music that sounds at home in bars.

Brother - they have been a staple of our music scene for ages. I guess as we are such a small country, they are big fish in small pond. However, if you want them to visit a pub near you I am sure that I could arrnage it!! :-) They are brilliant in concert.

I think I loved 'growing up' in NZ! We had great music!
I love Mad Men, but yes, the smoking & the boozing are over the top- exactly the way it was!!

WV is "conit"- exactly what they did with cig ads!
