I took the girls shopping. The 11 year old is re-designing her bedroom and I think we're going from the little girl to the tween. I have to say I was impressed with her choices. She has chosen a black and white colour scheme. The problem now is to sort the assorted teddy bears, stuffed toys and odds n sods - what to do with them? She wants to keep 'em all............

Store them in the loft. I guarantee that when she's 25 she'll speculate wistfully on having them back and will be really chuffed that you kept them.
Black and white !? Not the softest of colours, even for a girl fast growing-up !
Steve - our loft runneth over already! However, I suspect you're right. When I moved to Chch after amny years in the north island my mum arrived on the doorstep with a pile of boxes which neatly contained my childhood. It was like treasure!
Villager - I know what you mean, she has a splash of colour in a giant pair of red lips beanbag! Mind you, she is a very black and white child so in some ways I'm not surprised at her choice. You always know where you are with her.
Definitely the loft (overflowing or not!). Mine was influenced by some prematurely sophisticated early developers and threw out her barbie dolls. A few months later she regretted it sadly, and was thrilled when I was able to produce them all! Now they quietly await a new generation.
