Tuesday Tipple

My last post may have frightened the beejesus out of some of you, so today I'm making you all a Corpse reviver by way of apology! So, are you all sitting comfotably? Good, then we'll begin....

Corpse reviver

30ml brandy (my next favourite spirit actually, best to try a bit first you know to make sure it hasn't deteriorated in the bottle...)

15ml Calvados
15ml rosso vermouth
ice

Pour all ingredients into shaker, shake, then strain into serving glass. To serve, use a nice footed and stemmed glass - doesn't make a blind bit of difference to the taste but you'll look fab sipping it!

Yes I think I deserve this one after your last post - I'm still shaking!!
Anyway, it's a bit early for me so will try this later (though I have noticed that the brandy is pretty much over and was really tempted just to drain the dregs to justify buying a new bottle on my way home ....this is you!! You are doing this to me!!)

kj - sorry! :-)

Steve - did you take some in a wee flask?? (I did that once, not really recommended tho')

Selina - excuses, excuses!! I'm still moving to your street....

I could often do with a Corpse Reviver, Sag !

You certainly like your cocktails.

Villager - welcome back! Hope your holiday didn't wear you out too much. As for cocktails, what can I say...I am mis-spending my youth! :-)

I think I have some Brandy - it deteriorates??

I certainly need one after seeing your last post. Though why I kept clicking on that video, I have no idea. Thank god it wasn't in 3D.
Very funny, though. I'd never heard of such a thing.

oooh - WV is tingle

Saj, I am out of booze. It is sad but true. I am going to try to economize and wait until the weekend to get more. Hang on--my daughter and her new beau are due in late Thursday night so the Good Times will once again roll! Hurrah! I had myself worried for a minute, there.

I don't know from Elke Brooks! Were her bandmates wearing matching white jumpsuits?? Is this a number you break into when wearing your round shoes??

Violet - not sure if brandy deteriorates, it's just an excuse to quaff a bit more really! :-) The spider is a bit of fun eh?

Louciao - Oddly enough we're out of the everyday stuff too (NO IDEA where all that wine went, honestly! I suspect perhaps Owen had some mates round while we were away spider hunting...), and no I don't break into that song with my round shoes on but I might next time. I recall many years ago now I was on a bus on my way home from a late night at work (yes really) and there was a rather dunk woman seated near the back and she kept the bus amused by singing the chorus only over and over again "There goes my everything..." I live in fear of ending up like that!

You make me wish I could still drink too.

Oh wait.

I still do ....a little bit!

Gosh, I must have left muddy foot prints when I crawled in the kitchen window and splattered across the floor to the liquor cabinet... and I know I broke at least one bottle while passing them back out the window to the mates out there... But how did you guess it was me ??? Was it the Magic Lantern logo from the soles of my shoes that gave me away ???

Jeezzz, Corpse Reviver ??? Is that really the name of a drink ??? Well, that would be just perfect with the music I just posted this very second, from a little obscure group called... The Grateful Dead ! I'm sure they'd love some of your Corpse Revivers !!!

Mike - great to see you here again, come on in and I'll pour you 'just a little one'!!

Owen - see, you have "guilty" written all over your blog!! Actually, I followed the muddy footprints back to your place, it was easy but not a walk in a straight line!!

Elkie is fab and apparently still touring in the UK at the age of 63! I've been singing 'Pearl' at the top of my voice for the last three days because of you! The kids are fed up, but I am loving myself...

Antipo - great to see you! I know, I sang that (in my head) for ages...
