Sometimes when you first get yourself out of the scratcher, it's hard to know why you bothered. I mean, weatherwise things can get a bit mean at this time of year down here. However, somedays start out like this (above), I took this photo one morning very recently...yes, it was foggy and cold but the park is only a house away so I didn't have to traipse too far. It's abit soupy and Jack-the-Rippery don't you think?
And then, about 2 hours later there I was at a worksite visiting and by then the grey had given way to this....
Glorious sunshine, blue skies and a few lambs in the paddock (and not a drunk in sight).

Love the phoggy foto.
I'd choose either of those photos over the view I currently have from my window - lashing rain.
I LOVE that Crowded House video! Just like seeing Neil Finn's home videos. And I totally want whatever that weird little car is PLUS the trailer. (They'll be perfect for touring NZ!) Have sent the link to my daughter in Montreal, who first introduced me to CH. She and I went to a Neil Finn concert in Vancouver once and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot). I almost posted a Crowded House video for Song Saturday but have sort of given up on the idea of SS. Sometimes I almost give up on the whole blogging idea...but I'd miss our little get-togethers.
That foggy park photo is a beauty!
We have a heavy pea souper here this morning, but it is lifting already. I knew it would be foggy, I could feel it, as I lay in my warm bed. My body sure tells me weird things!
AWB - thanks, I like it too!
Steve - lashing rain? Is that like lashings of ginger beer?? Chin up, chuck.
Louciao - I'd miss our little soirees too, I'd have to stalk you through some other media wouldn't I? And I would you know!! I bumped into Neil Finn once but I don't think he noticed.
As for that park bench, shall we claim it as ours? We could hold park-parties there...
Meg - you snuck in on me there! Love the alternate blog, I haven't visited you there before, it's like a secret room!I love how still the world seems when it is foggy, don't you? When I took that photo the only sound I could hear was a gentle dripping sound of the wet trees...it was very peaceful.
Ah, Saj. Our own park bench. :-) Let's wait for good weather before having a park party, though. I wonder if stalking is easier or tricksier whilst sporting round shoes?
My WV is "efflusid", as in "she wrote an efflusid response to the blog posting, largely due to the quantity of alcohol she had consumed that night."
Isn't that true! You take yourself with you wherever you go! It was great seeing that video! And you, Saj, always take wonderful weather with you! Just look how the fog burned away, and the lovely field appeared!
That first photo did seem like London at its eeriest! Loved those intricately-grilled benches. xx
Louciao - I once wrote a short play about a park bench through the years! I'm sure we could find a part for both of us, there was a recurring theme of a wino....(fight ya for it!!) I feel like having a drink tonight too actually, had a funny ol' week so far. Love your use of your WV...mine is emaketio, no idea how to slip that into a conversation!
Margaret - I love that park, it's fun to think that my mum used to walk thru there to visit relatives when she was a child and now she sometimes walks there with her grandchildren. Circle of life eh?
Hello - Brother T sent me over to check out your spider video - Great!
But then I got caught up in all your other stuff which is also great
And I LOVE that CH video
The foggy picture is dripping with atmosphere, Sag.
Uhm...sorry to be so very english, but what exactly is a "scratcher" ??!
Lulu - hello and welcome, yes I'm quite fond of Crowded House too(even if the Australian's keep trying to claim them as theirs!! and thank you for your kind words about my blog.
Villager - it is isn't it! Thanks and I'm glad you're back from your holidays!
Selina - I wondered when someone would ask me about that! It's a term for 'bed' thats all. Not very exotic eh?
It's nearly the weekend...the liquor cabinet will be refilled...huzzah! I will practise for my possible upcoming role in your gripping Bench Saga. (Best not to let O know that wrestling may be involved!)
Did I hear someone calling ??? Did I hear a vague echo -- o -- o -- o ... ??? What's this about wrestling on a park bench ? Wrestling with each other, or wrestling with the bench to keep from falling off on the ground ? What alot of odd goings on...
I too love that little camper trailer and car pulling it. The foggy park is cool too, but I'm wondering, what is a "Scratcher" ??? Is that like a wool sweater knitted by a grandmother that one is obliged to wear but happy to get out of at earliest opportunity ?
Hey Lynne Lou, what's this about feeling like giving up on blogging ??? You better not ! I mean, like, where would we go to party when it's not Tuesday Tipple time in NZ ??? Listen, have a "Corpse Reviver" or two, and then we'll talk this over by the cool light of morning... ok ?
:-D
Louciao - oh joy is indeed a full liquour cabinet! I'll drink to that. Hell, I'll drink to anything today. Or most days ending in a 'y'.
Owen - ah I bet you can hear a cork popping from miles away! Yes, join our bench party. You can be the bouncer or perhaps you can be the one who helps Lynne and I back onto it. As for scratcher - it's 'bed' by another name. I can see your vocab will be expanding big-time since I adopted you!
We don't get much fog in our part of Oz, but when we do it's stunning. Love it. Beautiful shots.
AFM - great to have you visit, and with such kind words as well! We got again early this morning - usually a sign of a great day ahead!
