Baffling stuff for Friday

you know when you buy those 3 packs of potato peelers....why is it that the only one which works properly is the green one? The white and the yellow just don't have the same appeal (ahem).

OK, so this clip has NOTHING to do with potato peelers but it's been yonks since I have played my precious vinyl version of this chap, which I actually 'borrowed' from an old boyfriend who worked for a radio station in a small West Coast town. I doubt the station has noticed it is missing after all this time! However, it's sunny today and not too bad if you can get out of the wind...perfect for listening to Bobby and sampling a Tuesday Tipple!

Well I'm baffled.

It's still bloody Thursday here!!!

And my dear....you need a black one.

The black one we have is bigger than any white ones we may have had and you can get a good grip ;)

The eco-chef in me is saying you shouldn't be peeling your spuds anyway 'cos all the goodness is in the skin...!

Why would you buy a three pack of potato peelers? Do you run a chip shop?

I've never seen a three pack.

I have a small white one (as you might well imagine).

Peeling potatoes is one of the few things I do right-handed. We shan't go into what the other things are!

Have a lovely weekend.

I've never seen a 3-pack of peelers, either. Unless you count those blondes at the bar.

My Environmental Biology prof told us that while the goodness is indeed in the skins of fruit and veg, so are all the nasty chemicals that the farmers add. So peel away, or buy organic!

Ah, that Bobby Caldwell--never heard him before, but what a smooth way to ease the pain of this dismal November day, grey and bleak with mixed snow and rain. Pass me another bucket of that Tuesday Tipple will you, please, Saj.

WV: "discen" As in "I aint discen no one fo' peelin' they patooties."

I would definitely choose green, Sag !

I nearly fell off my chair when my current boyfriend returned 5 Cds he had borrowed to use on his radio show.

Steve - sometimes I just scrub the spuds but we haven't got too many nice ones yet!

Margaret - I'm glad you liked the video!

Rol - no, but its a good idea! I blame my liking for 3 packs on my Scottish ancestry...basically it is meant to be cheaper (and the Teen has thrown out a peeler with the peels before now)

RB - haha, I'm ambidextrous but let's not go into that either! :-)

Louciao - I had heard that too, its a case of damned iof you do and damned if ye don't eh! Here, take this bucket before Owen grabs the rest...

Villager - oddly enough it is always the green one which works best!

Laura, hi there. I wonder which CDs he borrowed? You must have a good collection if they were borrowed for a radio show, let me know if needs any Bongwater!! :-)

No darling! I'm not getting the three-pack potato peeler thing either. Why would you need more than one...in different colours too??
(I've just been catching up on you and I was really sorry to hear about Tony. Hope you are OK.)
Lots of love to you xx

Selina, am so glad you called by! I'm a cheapskate, thats why the three pack. I worry that if I went to peel the patooties (thanks Lou) that I wouoldn't have a peeler and I would waste them if I tried to peel 'em with a knife...so, you buy them in packs of 3 at 'x' amount which works out cheaper than buying them individually...I bow to my Scottish ancestry. I guess, if thats my defence, I could always just borrow a peeler from next door...BUT they might have a yellow or white one, and they don't work...now where was I going with this.....

Dearest Saj, I'm ever so late getting here, and am quite consternated to see all this going on about ambidexterous or single handed peeling of potatoes, sounds like skills to use when being punished in the military by being given kitchen duty peeling spuds and cracking eggs; couldn't be any double meanings there I'm sure. And just about the only time we see the word "appeal" any more is either in court cases or as in "sex appeal"... now I'm gonna get back to a'peeling them thar patooties, while listening to that slick like an oil slick Bobby Caldwell, jeez, I'll bet he could make more than one lady quiver in the knees... never heard of him, so thanks for the introduction, am going to go look for more, something appealing in the way he moves, and great voice...

WV is "musli", as in "I musli liked baked jacket potatoes, dun't have te peel'em, jes bakem..."

Owen, you're welcome late or not! Bobby is worth following up on, another of his "Special to me" is lovely, he's kinda like Boz Scaggs I guess and has a great sound. Not sure what he's up to these days but he sure floated my boat in the 80s!! With both hands.

Boz Scaggs!? Wow. That takes me back. Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to eavesdrop!
