Tuesday Tipple

Today we're having the RED EYE.

Chilled beer (yes, that may be hard to find if you're in the UK....)
tomato juice
Pour equal quantities of ingredients into beer glass.

In you go!! Now the following was a favourite drinking song when I was tad younger, the drunker people got the faster we tried to sing it. Chaos. Pure chaos.

Now why don't they give us a few of these when we get on the red eye flights in the wee hours of the morning ??? Now I'm going to try singing the drinking song ! Wish me luck... now, where's Lynne, and Steve, and Selina ??? We can all sing this together !

See you soon have a fine evening with plenty of redeyes....

owen, I have often wondered that...until I tried one, then it all became quite clear why not! Its a fun song to try, my MUCH older brother can still rattle it off drunk or sober (he's actually better singing it when he's drunk to be fair...)

word verification - jangl

I have spent many happy hours rehearsing this very song.

Now, I fear I will be spending many dreaming hours ...

thanks for the ear worm. think i'll pass on the tomato juice and beer though, yech.

Beer - the essential ingredient of procreation. I have a shot of the old red eye every morning. Sadly this involves the kids waking me before 6am and not quaffing large quantities of alcohol.

I might replace the beer with vodka, although I'm sure it's not quite the same thing! Can't do the Red Eye AND the song! xxox

Are you feeling all right, my love?
You're such a classy lady and yet, you seem to be offering me beer and tomato juice!?! And the opportunity to sing a song ...with Owen (though I know he suggested that bit)
I think I'll have to pass today. We'll just pretend it was never mentioned and I'll be back next week to see what more sophisticated delights you have for us!
Red Eye - huh !!

I'll have a Red Eye,Saj, but hold the tomato juice! I hate tomato juice. I think that my man-about- the-house, Pierre, sometimes quaffs beer with Clamato juice. Ugh! If you mix V8 with beer, though, it's a health food drink. But I prefer my beer straight up, thanks. Getting a bit cold for beer round here. Had to practically force myself to drink a cider yesterday!

Violet - granted, it is an acquired taste. Enjoy the song (again and again)

Steve - oh dear, I have distant memories of when our kids were that age, it was a case of 'sleep? Whats that??" Don't worry, they will be teenagers soon enough and you'll need a crow bar to get them outta the scratcher!

Margaret - that would be a fine drink too! :-)

Selina - I know, I do have a habit of being disappointing people when they least expect it. Its all part of my charm. ;-)

Louciao - glad you made it, what is Clamato juice?? I adore tom juice, it's actually really good without any additives for a quick hangover cure!

Clamato juice, Saj, is a vile concoction of clam juice mixed with tomato juice! Though it might pass as a broth if heated, it is sold to be drunk cold...and sometimes mixed with beer. As Snoopy would say, "Blecht!"
