Silent Sunday

Must admit it wasn't until I read the tags you'd put with it that I got what it was a reference to. It's amazing the sheer weight of sobriety that followed that connection.

Steve, I have always wondered about the number 59 on this sculpture. Our Fire Service commissioned this sculpture from debris from the Twin Towers destruction...its situated near a slow part of the Avon River, and there's a platform to feed ducks etc...very tranquil setting for such a violent reminder of what man is capable of eh?!

Apart from the significance of the sculpture (a very powerful monument once one learns of its provenance), I like how you turned the photo into an artwork in and of itself.

From the depths of depravity rise the heights of one of humankind's only saving graces... the ability to create art... (and to laugh, as Switters, or was it Maestra, informed us in Tom Robbins epic work "Fierce Invalids...")

Incredible that this made it all the way to New Zealand... further proof, as if we needed it, that we are living in a global village, thoroughly connected.

A fine Sunday to you, sister Saj...

Fifty-nine is the 17th smallest prime number. The next is sixty-one, with which it comprises a twin prime. 59 is an irregular prime, a safe prime and the 14th supersingular prime. It is an Eisenstein prime with no imaginary part and real part of the form 3n − 1.

Surely able to carry heavy a load, maybe even heavy as this. A good reminder, especially today. Please have a nice start into the new week.

Louciao-well, thanks very much! I've been sneaking a peek thru your window when you're not looking to try and get some ideas...

Owen- a fine sunday, now that would be nice. Sadly it is cold.

Robert-ah ha, you know your maths then! I knew there was something about that photo that just added up! :-)
