Freakin' Fridays, Batman!

"Good morning", said Mother Nature rudely and wantonly. I tried to roll over and go back to sleep, but she kept on at me for a good 30 seconds - first this way, then that. Honestly, she is insatiable. Unlike my nerves. They're like that extremely old undie elastic and have been worn through.

"Cantabrians can expect a few high 4s in the next few days" chirps the early morning Radio Chick.

By now, I'm so cheered up I could just spit.

But wait, there's more. "The weather this weekend..." (I'm yawning now, disastered out? )

Have a great weekend folks, wherever you are.

I was just reading about the expected Snow :). Was speaking to my mum this morning and she wasn't sure if she dreamt the 5.1 or not, but then heard about it on the radio LOL

I'm really horrified at the thought that you guys are still getting shocks. That must be so unsettling. Are they able to guestimate when it will eventually stop?

Remember feeding me young son throughout the night, yet it was mostly every three hours and during the day I fell asleep during lessons.

Wishing you all possible strength, patience and good for the weekend.

Maybe a trip overseas for a few months would help the nerves... I'll bet our sister has a spare room in her raccoon house out back... and it's summer there too ! We have a little tiny garden cabin you could sleep in, or there's a convertible sofa bed in the basement, or even the guest room you could have for a while...

Do we even get more? it is nearly September One year of earthquakes ridicules. The 5.1 this week got the hole house shaking again.

I am sending the Wood Chuckerer down to you with some snow shoes. They're not only useful for getting through snowdrifts but for keeping one's balance during rolling earthquakes as well. They are, however, not to be worn in bed. I hope you have bought shares in the NZ division of the Depends company (makers of fine adult diapers).
Our brother is right, there is plenty of room in our raccoon hotel next door, should you want a little get-away. And the seats in the glider swing could be used as bunk beds for the girls; its rocking motion should pose no problem for them.

Blimey. Is there anything the planet can't throw at you ?

Zen your way through it all, and stay in bed as much as possible. Preferably with someone else.

My goodness! I can't believe you're still getting aftershocks and that they are so darn big. Anyone who says we can get used to anything obviously doesn't live in an earthquake zone that refuses to stop rocking and rolling. I hope the snow doesn't add to your woes and is a pretty distraction that melts quickly! My best wishes for a more peaceful future...

Vicky - I mknow how your mum feels, it's getting a bit like that now!

Steve- We're told to expect shaking for about 12 months...

Robert- Thank you, today we have heaps of snow!

Owen- Oh sounds like so much fun, I wonder if there is enough sustanance in that racoon shed for all of us?

Marja, hello and welcome! One of the saddest things for me about the quakes was my beloved Delft collection is now a fraction of the size it was...lovely to see you here.

Louciao- we will need those snow shoes today thanks...got so much snow no-one could get to work! Yay. A duvet day. Best get your gluhwein recipe out love!

Keith - I honestly think that we must have really annoyed Mother Nature! However, nothing we can do but shut up and deal with it eh. I'll save you a spot by the fire shall I?

StickUp-Oh thank you, my friend. Today we have snow to keep our minds off the shakes! WQV is "shwoley" as in "swholey moely batman..."
