Pam Ayers got it right!

An early morning dash to the airport last week saw me rushing through the morning tooth brushing and flossing ritual with perhaps more vigour than necessary in ONE SO YOUNG. However, sadly must have flossed too hard and managed to dislodge part of a tooth...a molar no less. Spent the day swanning about in Wellington and doing the meeting thing while trying to book an appointment with my dentist back at home. Friday morning saw me slumped in "The Chair" resigned to the fact that we were facing an extraction. Not sure what hurt more, having the tooth removed or paying for it afterwards.

However here I am Sunday night still with that post-extraction chipmunk face, suffering also an allergy to the medication which means I have a hideous red itchy rash across my face and neck, with half my face still numb!

Oh joy. Pam was right - I wish I'd looked after me teef!

Hope you're feeling better soon. I also went to the dentist last week to get my night-guard fitted. £150 for the privilege of having a rubber thing placed over my bottom set to stop me gnashing my palate to blood puree while I sleep. Feels like my teeth are in a vice but apparently I'll get used to it. It's like being mugged and told to "have a nice day" afterwards.

'What a bore', as many of my relations would have said. Jolly good excuse for an extra glass though, with all its anti-bacterial and analgesic qualities.

At least you got the tooth extracted. I have a tooth that has been a pain in my ass since 1971. The dentist keeps fixing it. This tooth has cost me a fortune and my current dentist refuses to pull it.

Of course he does, it's his meal ticket.

Poor you! I know all about teeth troubles, though luckily am managing to hold onto mine despite the former ravages of undiagnosed gum disease, touch wood (er, enamel)

Love the piccie! Inspired.

Hope by now you are feeling better - or have found something to make you forget how you feel.

Wow, it must be the season for teeth!
Mine came out with no drama after all the pain I went through with it. No after effects either.
Hope your rash is gone now.

Steve - sounds lovely! Do you look like that Big Guy in the Bond movies with the metal gnashers??

BT - I like the cut of your jib!!

Mike - Yeah, I'm lucky my dentist is a realist.

Poet - I do hope things are working out for you!!

Deeps - welcome and thank you.

Violet -I found the recipe for chocolate martini!! That should help.

Villager - haha! My dad was a great fan of ol' Pammie and I gather she is still going...just not very far sadly!

Meggie - rash going slowly, thanks. I admit I did think of you while I was in The Cahir.
