Why I love Autumn

The colours are wonderful. The cold is not. However.....
see how pretty it is! These photos were taken just down the road from our house, near the High School the Scowly Teen attends. I have to say I really enjoy the drive to school!
The rabbit is healing well but sadly it appears they won't be back into the same hutch again. We had the two of them in the garden this afternoon to see how they got on but Daisy instantly started biting at Gretel (sorry, we had to revert to Gretel as after 7 months of using that name we can't stop!! He will no doubt go into therapy for his name (Justme).

Hi Sagittarian, happy to see you dropped by the Magic Lantern, via Steve's blog, which is wonderful, I've been enjoying his excellent writing... hard to imagine that you are getting into Autumn, while here Spring is springing merrily along. I guess Christchurch is on South Island, so I suppose I shall return the "lucky sod" title affectionately in your direction, although I have doubts about exactly what "sod" means... my dictionary says sod is the dirt the grass grows on, but I'm guessing in New Zealand, and perhaps in Australia too, it must mean something like, "a most wonderful bugger who has too much spare time allowing him to loiter in French markets and other idyllic locations doing too much photography to nourish his bloomin' blog in between leisurely lunches with his lovely wife and daughters in seaside crepe restaurants before taking nice naps in the afternoon"... am I right ???

For me New Zealand is a dream destination of long history, for years I had a pen pal who lived near Dunedin I think was the name... she had lovely views of the South Island Alps, but I sort of lost touch after she had kids and I moved to France, but the dream of visiting NZ lives on... someday.

So, I'm starting to ramble, which is a danger with me... glad to hear your rabbit's private bits got sorted out, and to see that Bruce has some fans on the far side of the Earth. I saw him in concert in 1978, it was an amazing show. Thanks again for visiting, and am looking forward to seeing more news from South Island !

PS If you added the "Followers" gadget to the right side of your blog, I'd be happy to sign in as your first follower, it makes it easy to see when someone has updated their blog with new goodies.

Sincerely, Owen (cheers to your brother, if that is indeed his name too... anyone named Owen can't be all bad, right !)

Thatr does look like it would be a lovely drive. I like how the leaves make the water a burnt orange colour.

I had to laugh at poor Gretel. I had the same gender problem with my turtles. Seems both of them were female (which could explain the hissing and spitefulness between them), but their names remained Otis and Darby forever.

Lovely pics! How funny that it's Autumn there and will soon be Summer here, ah ha ha ha!!

Sorry Amanda, don't know what came over MOI. By the way, so sorry I never seem to stop by your blog and leave any messages these days...hope all is well at your end (apart from nasty bunny rabbits biting other rabbits - it's not allowed!)

And by the way - one more thing again...thought I should tell ya. A decision has been made:

Gorgeous pics - and it's weird to be other end of the spectrum with all the trees here a mass of pink and white as spring kicks into gear.

Please look after Gretal. I'm still smarting on his behalf.

Owen, hello again and yes you're absorootly correct re the meaning of sod (your version not the dictionary)! Yes my brother is anmed Owen and I have an Uncle named Owen as well - it's not a common name over this way tho' for all that. Sounds like you might be persuaded to visit NZ one day eh? Christchurch is indeed on the South Island and Dunedin is a mere 5 hour drive away (or faster if you forgo the many toilet stops the kids insist on!!) So glad you dropped by and I'll try and find the follower gadget thingy whatsit.

Violet - I am almost looking forward to driving that way each day for the next term (starting Monday school is back on).

Villager - well, I think we're a rather pretty place to visit but all the pix I have seen on other blogs elsewhere in the world 9your's included) show me that even tho' we'd like to think so, us Kiwis haven't really cornered the market on natural beauty!

Cheeser - darling boy, wonderful of you to drop in. I have wondered what you're up to and looks like you're BACK! Hoorah, a reason to have that Cuban cocktail I have been thinking about!

Steve - I know, the seasons didn't tick over as fast when I just had my own to enjoy but now via blogging I get two seasons at once! As for Gretel, he's such a sweetie and I feel bewildered for him as Daisy has really turned on him! We don't let them out together unsupervised but the wee buggers can run like crazy and it's hard to keep up with them! They have sep hutches now....

Well, I've been away too long, eh? Good to read up and hear all your news. Hope you've had that cuban cocktail now, wish I could join you! x

I had forgotten that it is the fall where you are. We are just barely into spring here.
The autumn colours are lovely, but I am happy to say that I am not going to see them for a few months. :)

I feel quite homesick for the Avon. It always fascinated me, & the wonderful trees were a lovely outlook from our innercity hotel.
