Now then, it's been awhile since we had a quick drinks catch up...so come on in, kick off your sad faces and embibe.
My buzz this week is a Yellow Bird. To be honest, I have seen stuff all sunshine in recent weeks that I'm going about with a face like two buckets banging together.
So, get yourself an old fashioned glass (and accomplished booze hags 'n' hounds will know what I mean there and if you don't just grab a glass for gawds sake...)
In a shaker, add
30ml Bacardi
22ml Galliano
22ml Cointreau (surely one of the best liqueurs this side of the black stump)
22ml fresh lime juice
ice
Shake it all about (hokey tokey like) then pour into your glass. Voila!
I don't know about you, but I'm starting to feel all better all ready! Now then, where's that other glass.......

That's a big bottomed glass and no mistake but looks good enough to be shown a good time. Hope it will do the same for me!
I could really fancy one of those drinks, Sag; it's so hot over here just now !
Oh yes, that looks just the ticket for me as I sit out in the sunshine and try to avoid work.
Mix me a large one!
Sorry about the lack of sunshine. I think we've definitely had your share here. But you'll be getting your own back in a few months' time (in a few days' time knowing the UK!!)
Cheers!
Wow, that looks delicious, but I pretty much don't drink anymore. Sigh. But to you, cheers, Sag!
Do you know Harvey Wallbangers (not the guy, the drink?) They were popular in the '70s I think...uses Galliano, vodka, OJ. Sweet, refreshing and offers a respectable buzz. Cointreau is about the only thing in the world I'm allergic to so will have to pass on your offer of a Yellow Bird.
My daughter spent a year as an exchange student in NZ and visited Christchurch which looks a wonderful place to live.
Steve - well, go easy! You shouldn't play up on a school night y'know.
The Villager - heat? What's that again? You're very lucky, the only heat we're having at the moment is from the fire which goes pretty much 24/7.
RB - Large one on it's way! (Am assuming you mean drinks and not large bottom referred to by Steve!)
Margaret - delicious indeedy! I don't have cocktails as much as I used to really. Too lazy I think, that might change in summer tho!
Louciao- hello there! Allergic to Cointreau? how odd, haven't heard of that before. As for Harvey, yes heard of him/it. I decided that I needed something completely different from my day job one year (as a hobby thing I mean) so took myself off to the local Poly Tech and did a cocktail mixology course. It was fun, my husband dropped me off each lesson and i took the bus home (for obvious reasons!!) Christchurch is lovely but its very cold at the moment (for us anyway). Glad you visited, do call again.
Now then Sag. I'll cook you dinner if you'll arrange the drinks.
AWB - sounds like a fine deal to me!! Oh no, my word verification? "SMUTT" - oh well, it's the weekend so why not! :-)
Oh that looks fab! I'm going to mix one of those as soon as I get home tonight, take it out into the garden, sit on the swing and chill!!
Thank you x
Selina, oh enjoy it for me in the heat!! Our yard is uber muddy, and cold....
Harvey Wallbangers warmed me back in the day!! so much so, I never have indulged again!!
Oh those cold Chch winters!! Mulled wine, & thick soups were the order of the days!!
Meggie - absolutely right! We haven't got over 8 degrees for ages, tonight down to a balmy 4!
It is too hot in India and i am sure i will try this...Thanks for sharing the recipe...Do check my another blog also i.e.Unseen Rajasthan
Oh jeez, I'm getting here late again, I hope you saved me one !!! Sounds deeee-lushious,...... hic !
And after we have a few of these we can pile in your junk yard car there and do a little joy ride around the arena of the boneyard there... very slowy of course...
So word verification was "SMUTT" ? Oh dear, after one or two of these drinks do people start getting smutty ??? My word verification is "Prubbeci", I'm not even going to try to figure out what that means. I don't even know why people use these word verification thingies, in fact they're pretty much a pain in the hind end... half the time I can't even read them clearly, and half to do a second one... gggrrrrr.... I turned mine off a while back there, and have not gotten one single spam comment... maybe we could start a campaign... drink a drink and ask everyone to turn off the word verification ??? Bottoms up, eh !?! (the bottom of the glass that is... !)
Still smiling about your car !
Unseen - I hope you enjoy it!
Owen - ah there will always be a glass left for you here! (might be empty but we will refill it), as for the WV it can be pain in the southern most oriface! There are a couple of sites I would love to visit more regularly but, like you, find it frustrating to have to type the WV more than once! I am an impatient ol' sod. I'm glad you got so much enjoyment from the old car photo, I knew it would come in useful one day!!
Oh, that sounds like such a great idea. Too bad I can't drink. ..or, maybe that is a good thing.
love and kisses,
matty
Well, that was very nice indeed. I quite fancy another.
And no I most definitely was not referring to bottoms!!!
I am not drinking midweek at the moment but I think virtual drinking is OK.
That's far too fancy for me - it's unscrew and glug over here, preferably with a starw to save time pouring into a glass..
