Well, that is definitely the easiest way to overhaul the joint. I suppose we could just play endlessly with its pixels. The red version looks like a hot- time-in-the-old-town-tonight kinda place, all right.
Speaking of Moulin Rouge, did I ever tell you that I was once a can-can dancer? Maybe we could open the Can-Do Can-Can Canadian School of Dance in one of the ball rooms!
Wow ! That was the quickest overhaul I ever saw ! Damn but you are fast. (now don't take that wrong, being a fast woman is a good thing when it comes to renovating old hotels !) But what I really think it needs is some NEON... lots of neon, to highlight all the architectural details and structure, yup, neon could really spice this place up... and fountains, needs some fountains in front, and maybe some palm trees, big tall royal palms along the drive up to it... what do you think ??? Ooh, all this dreaming is making me thirsty... how about some margueritas ? or pina coladas ? or some good créole punch ?
Louciao- thats amazing, one of my favourite pictures is of a Can-Can girl! My dad had this pencil sketch of one which I have adored for years and not long after he died it actually fell off the wall...literally only an hour after his death this picture just up and off the wall! A ball room it is then!
Meggie-I know, it has a certain cheeky smugness even in its current state of disrepair.
Owen - the sad thing about this hotel is that it hasn't got a driveway, it's practically on the street (in more ways than one eh?) but has a small yard which would convert to a beer/wine garden nicely methinks. You get chores cos Project Manager wouldn't take up all your time, you being so clever and all...(good recovery?)
Saj, That is so interesting about a favourite picture of your father's falling off the wall after he died died because a painting fell off the wall over my mother's bed shortly after my own father died! And light bulbs and electrical things kept going kaflooey. There was one of those weird "touch lights" beside his bed that would be turned on when no one had been in his room. I wonder how many ghosts wander the halls of our hotel? (Who ya gonna call?...Maybe ghost busting could be one of our brother's chores!)
WV: layoppe The hotel will provide hammocks for people who like to have a layoppe after an active day of can-can lessons and drinking.

I will bet the old place could tell many a risque tale, if it could only talk!
