Tuesday Tipple

Living way down south here, I have a fascination with the Northern Lights, would love to see them! However, in the meantime I'll have to settle for one of these...

Northern Light

3/4 ounce light rum
3/4 ounce triple sec
Sparkling wine or champagne to top up
1 piece of orange peel
1/2 slice orange

Shake the rum and triple sec together, with ice, in the shaker and then strain into a champagne flute. Top up with sparkling wine and squeeze the orange peel over the drink. Perch the slice of orange on the rim of the glass. Enjoy.

Not a bad compensation, I'd say.

Grrrhhh! I am having computer problems today. Gave up on Chrome and reinstalled Firefox and now I come here and all your videos say my plug-in needs updating. How rude of it!

I'll have one of those Northern Lights to calm me down please.

Cheers!!

Dear Saj, perhaps this is what our sister Lynne has been drinking that has had her seeing such brightly colored skies above the snow covered landscapes ??? She'll be seeing rainbows before long... Must be wonderful having technicolor eyes the way she does... Anyway, I think one of these years we are going to have to all meet in Moncton, and then head north from there, whether we find northern lights, or northern bears, it will be an adventure...

Steve-you and me both, mate!

rb- how rude indeed!! I think you might need several to calm you down, plus you gotta stock up as it's nearly February....

Owen- oh great idea of a sibling road trip! You can bring the food...you know, cake mostly...

Now living about 3,000 miles down to the South of where I used to see once Nothern Lights, I thank you much for the memoires.

Please have you all a wonderful Wednesday.

Sibling road trip! Maybe we could skip the Moncton part, though. (Oh, did I say that out loud?) In my misty, watercoloured memory bank I seem to recall seeing glimmerings of the Northern Lights from the kitchen window of my parents' house in N.Vancouver. They weren't multi-coloured but sort of greeny and wavering. Would that do? Let's meet up at my mum's house! Just tell work that you'll be a bit late getting in next week...by a few months.

Good Night Nurse. I would like to sip that drink while gazing out at the Northern Lights. Now that would be something! Come to think of it, a couple of those and I might be able to see the Northern Lights right in my own living room!

Robert- Good memories, lovely that you still have them! Happy Wednesday to you too.

Louciao-OK, Mum's the word then. I hope our Bro doesn't start wiggling his whatsit and shaking his dingaling in time to the lights - wavery green could be just the thing to tun him Toady!

StickUp-hehe, well you have magic colours at your lense tips at the best of times so I wouldn't be surprised if you saw the lights from your lounge!

Love ‘Seasick’! Great bloke. Makes such a big sound. He’s a one man show and packs a lot of hill billy blues rock passion into this track. A real slide ‘geeetar’ driver. Kind of a one man Zee Zee Top, without the make up. Saw this on Jool’s Holland the night he was on. One of the original ‘Bad Boys’ and you just can’t help lovin him. Always gets my right foot stomping.

Then a few weeks later spent the weekend at the Larmer Tree Music Festival in Wiltshire at the front of stage to watch Jools and his swing band, Robert Cray – who stood on my fingers at one point, and a massively slimmed down Alison Moyet who can still punch it in the voice stakes.

Outstanding event.
