Tuesday Tipple

Ok, so I played up on a 'school night' and now even typing this is hurting my head.

Yes, it's true...old enough to know better (young enough to do it anyway)...so without further thumping on the keyboard and in deference to my Scottish ancestry:

Blood and Sand

30ml scotch whisky
30 ml rosso Vermouth
30ml cherry brandy
30ml orange juice
ice

Pour all ingredients into a shaker, and shake (but not too loud...pleeeease), then strain intoa  serving glass.

get it doone yer neck!

I am first in line, whispering for a refill, please. But you can have my share of the cherry brandy. I'll just sit here quietly sipping till you're feeling a bit better.

ah, Louciao so cool of you to drop in while you're on holiday! I'm not overly fond of cherry brandy either, how about we leave it out for Owen? (The cherry brandy that is...)

Oh my god, this sounds like some of the awful concoctions we would make in high school whereby in the home of whoever's parents weren't at home, small amounts from several different bottles from the liquor cabinet (so the changes in levels wouldn't be noticed) would be poured into one bottle and shaken (without ice) and then passed around out in a field somewhere until we all passed out... or almost... what awful memories ! Well, take two aspirin and call us in the morning, ok Saj... actually, on second thought, yeah, let me try that cherry brandy...
;-P

PS WV is "tworie", as in the two of you are a real tworie, not to be confused with threeries or fouries, and certainly not to be confused with harpies...
:-D

Not sure how Owen got from tworie to harpie...must be the cherry brandy he was slurping. My wv is "trabli" as in: after all the chry brny wot he slurpt, Owie were trabli, trabli drunk.

Owen - thank gawd you've cleared that up for us - not harpies! Hoorah, and I have it win riting now too!! I trust you're a credible sauce (yes I know, its not spelt that way USUALLY)...I guess you recall Blackberry Nip too then??

Louciao - haha, see the WV is quite useful sometimes eh?

Steve - oooh, hoots mon honestly I wasn't partying at your neighbours til the wee hours...

Ah well, you know me, I don't need to be told twice. Down the hatch it goes. Actually it is a bit early (10.15am!!!!) so I will save it for Friday night.

I am being SOOOOO good at the moment - only drinking on Fri, Sat and Sun. Doesn't mean I drink less, just that I neck it down over three days instead of seven! Actually, that is probably worse, isn't it???

I'm glad to be back too!

old enough to know better (young enough to do it anyway)- one of my very favourite, and often quoted lines - love it!

Hi Saj! I'm missing Lynne, but ah! I see her here! You have too much fun! Come over to my place; I have Bruce, and we can fight over him! (You know Patty wasn't even at the Meaowlands concert I went to?!)

RB - oh, well done you! We tried the ol' drinking at weekends only thing but, like you, found that we demolished the same amount but in a lesser timeframe which probably defeated the purpose of restricting our intake!

Penelope - a gal after my own heart!

Margaret - I'm a bit hungover to fight for Bruce, today at least, so don't get too cosy. Looks like you had a great night out with him tho'! :-)
