Torchwood

I have been watching Torchwood - Children of  Earth these past few weeks, final was on last night. I have to say I have actually enjoyed these episodes.  The 456 actually seem real, not like there is a bit of 'invisible string' making them work as was the case with a few past monsters.

The cast has been outstanding, and I'm much happier now that Monkey Face has gone! Sorry to any fans he might have, but frankly he irritated the bejesus outta me.

Anyway, last nights episode almost had the Scowly and I in tears, when Jack lost his bloke...so sad. However we cheered ourselves up by trying to guess the exact moment that Jack would give his 'born again' gasp - in earlier episodes this was a great galloping affair but in this one it was more a flutter.

I'm not sure when we will get our next 'does' of Torchwood, but am looking forward to it. I just wish there was some way that the programmers would put it on earlier at night. 10.30pm is a bit late for me during the week - I can't believe that there is any reason for it to be on so late unless there are still homophobes out there about the boy-action. Somehow for me this only adds to the programmes appeal - no idea why, and I know it's not the main part of the storyline. I get annoyed with hetero-stuff if I feel it detracts from the 'real' story (hence my difficulty in watching those ol' wetserns where the good guy gets the gal...), it's why some of the more recent Dr Who lines did my head in as much as I adore DT.

So, thumbs up so far for the Torchwood writers, looks like they finally took advice from some of you in blog-land and got their acts together. I am eagerly awaiting the next series...in fact, I'm fired up and jiggy....

Yeah, baby! I dug the guitar solo, the hair and the hats, the double mikes, and the white bell-bottoms. (I've never seen Torchwood, so can't comment.)

Well, I admit my cultural ignorance, have never come across Torchwood, so have no clue what you're on about here... but as for Lynyrd Skynyrd, jeez, hadn't come across them in a while, like since about 1977 when I worked at the stadium in Philadelphia where they played a concert to a crowd of 100000+, from there they played another big show in Atlanta I believe, and then their plane crashed. But that didn't stop them from rocking on... Hurry up, we're waiting for you over at Lynne's place !

Told ya it was a good 'un, didn't I? Didn't I? Sadly there are no plans for Captain Jack to appear in the forthcoming Doctor Who series and I've heard nothing at all that RT Davis has any plans to pen anymore Torchwood episodes... maybe they've gone out on a high?

I'm afraid I've never watched Torchwood and I just popped in for another bucket of Gluhwein. Although it is only 10.15am here so perhaps I should have a coffee first?

I must admit I can watch Torchwood but don't really care for it. Not sorry to see it go but we need more quality SciFi in the UK. We've been treated to repeats of Star Trek for too long.

Louciao - We must have a musical get-together some day - it seems we would have a ball!

Owen- oh, you better search out this particular series of Torchwood for sure and how lucky are you to have seen LS in concert?!!

kj - so glad you dropped in, I find it hard to have any TV that I really look forward to and this one programme has finished so I am back to my books again I suspect!

Steve - you did, indeed and you were right! So, that was it then...we don't find out anymore about what happens next??

RB - would you like some brandy in your coffee then luv?

Tenon- Re-runs of Star Trek - which series? However, I am worried that we have had such a lapse of time between Dr Who's that we are almost out of interest for it...

I love that we like the same programmes. When you come to live on my street we should have regular evenings in front of the box with your various tipples lined up in front of us!
Loved Captain Jack but I fear, as Sex God Steve says, there are no plans for us to see him again anytime soon.

I hadn't realised you were such a Dr Who/Torchwood fanatic until recently, Sag ! This is the kind of thing we usually associate with nerdy men........but I know you're nothing like that !

Selina - I like the sound of that!!

Villager - ah good to know that my attempts to come across as a nerdy man have failed! :-)
