What did I do today?

We finally got the pool finished! It has been in need of TLC for ages, finally drained it and sanded, fixed leaks and repainted it. Then the kids decided they wanted to draw stuff on it as well...see how clever they have been? A crayfish/lobster and a seahorse no less. They also did jelly fish, starfish and dolphins.
While the kids splashed about, the "grown ups" (and I use that term loosely) did this.....
I also bought my husband some of this stuff 'cos he really likes it! Good ol' Wobbly Boot (yes it really is self explanatory) from Harrington's Brewery.
The Wobbly Boot reminds me a brew I tried in a funny wee pub years ago somewhere in Surrey, UK (I think)...theirs was called Tangle Foot for obvious reason.
As for me, well I am quite fond of their Scrumpy. It's perfect for that end of the afternoon, sun's finally on the run and the wind has dropped...What did YOU do today?

Hey, great post! I remember those evenings, when the wind dropped & all seemed so right with the world.

Does the Old Orchard still run? I remember my first encounter with Cider at that venue. OMG!
Maybe I will post about it!

Sadly I donned a pair of boots that were anything but wobbly... but there is consolation. Karen and I got some genuine Cornish vintage cider for Christmas (amazing it's still survived)... so I know what I will be doing tonight!

Hi Meggie, if the Old Orchard is the same one at the foot of the hills near Lyttelton then YES, its still there. My friend got married there a few years ago, its very nice! I look forward to hearing about your "cider trip"!!
Sorry to bang on about our nice weather Steve!!

Cider is one of those drinks I just can't do. I only have to drink the smallest smidgen and I cannot walk across the room. I can consume many bottles of wine or pints of normal beer and walk in a straight line but cider, well it's a killer.

Love the drawings. I suspect my children would have drawn rude things!!!

I did nothing today, but I did truly enjoy it.

I drank a beer once that was called Mad Frog Beer.

I can't imagine what a mad frog would look like, but I can tell you that it was awful beer.

Since you asked, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to erase the image of the last photo in your previous post off my retinas! EWWWW! Am very pleased there is a new post up today, and one featuring food and drink too.

The weirdest named drink I ever sampled was a beer called "Picked Possum".
It did leave my tongue a bit furry, now that I think about it.

Great pics for the pool! Your kids are very artistic and talented (like their Mum then!)

Mmm why do you always succeed in making us feel p*ssed off about being stuck here in the frickin' cold English climate, Amanda? All these references to the "pool", pics of poolside food, beers in the sun....huh!!

(He he!!)

RB, rude pictures? Wish I had thought of that!!
Mike, most beer is bad in my view altho' I have discovered one here that is kind of apricot flavoured which may well be cheating and not real beer....
Sorry Melissa I nose it was a bad 'un!
OC - you will have to forgive me in advance for my next post. You've been warned.
